The Durham Council of Garden Clubs was founded in 1929 in federation with the National Garden Club and The Garden Club of North Carolina, Inc. The Council served more than eight decades as the umbrella group for garden clubs and junior garden clubs in Durham, NC. Today, Durham Garden Clubs continue the same mission of philanthropic projects of preservation, conservation, education and beautification under District 9 of the Garden Clubs of NC.

Meeting Sept 1st at Hill House
All clubs were represented at an exciting meeting chaired by Jean. There was coffee and donut holes for added flair.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The Landscape design course needs more people to sign up....PLEASE come even if you don't want to take the class for credit. Oct 1-3.. Duke Gardens... call Alice at Duke ASAP.
Marty needs helpers or pages for the District 9 meeting Oct 7. Call her and offer to help.
STATE FAIR is Oct 15-24. Participate and do an arrangement. http://www.ncstatefair.org/2009/ and let the blog know you have entered so we can go photograph it.

Fall Board Meeting information GCNC
The Fall Board Meeting of The Garden Club of North Carolina, Inc. will be held September 20-21, 2009 at The Village Inn Conference Center in Clemmons, NC.

Directions to the Village Inn Golf and Conference Center: Clemmons, NC.
From Greensboro on I-40, take Exit 184. Turn left at light, cross the bridge, through the traffic signal and take an immediate left between Exxon Station and Waffle House or go to next traffic signal, turn left into Meadowbrook Mall; go to front of BigKMart and turn left. Go straight and carefully cross drive into the Village Inn parking lot.
From Charlotte on I-40, take Exit 184. Turn right at traffic signal and take immediate left between Exxon station ans Waffle House or turn right and go to next traffic signal and turn left into Meadowbrook Mall. Go to front of BigKMart and turn left. Go straight and carefully cross drive into Village Inn.
